Interactive Longhorn Beetle Records
This interface allows you to search the database of 2006 longhorn beetle records (as of 21/02/07) and to control which records you map and view. (It has been tested with Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.8). There are three search "filters" that can be used to restrict the records reported. These filters are individually enabled by ticking the "Enabled" box alongside each row. If you don't want to apply any filters then just hit the "Submit Query" button now! 1. The species name. Part of a name may be entered by changing the option to "starts with...", "ends with..." or "contains...". Click the "common name" button to search for the common name, but as most longhorn beetles don't have common names this has limited value. Remember to tick the Enabled box to use this filter. 2. The site name. All records have been assigned to the BRMC's site database. Enter the full site's name or use part of the name as for species. Remember to tick the Enabled box to use this filter. 3. A grid square. Records can be restricted to particular grid square(s) by entering the square (e.g. TL1234) and selecting 1km or 10km. Remember to tick the Enabled box to use this filter. The order in which records are displayed can be controlled using the three selectors in the "Order by" row. Hit the "Submit Query" button to see the map and records. It may take a few seconds to build the web-page to your specifications, so please be patient... |
